Student Housing

About Student Housing

The accommodation officer in the Directorate of Student Affairs oversee all housing operations (applications, placement, billing, etc). Application for accommodation is made separately at the office of the Director of Student Affairs or online. If the residence that you choose is full, you will be placed on a waiting list for another residence which will be ranked according to academic merit and date of application.

If you are given a space at a residence, you need to pay an accommodation fee to secure your space. Accommodation is only provided for one year and you need to re-apply the following year to renew your accommodation.

Newgate University Minna also has agreements in place with some private, accredited accommodation providers around the University to which you can apply separately.

At NUM approved residences, food is provided by external suppliers and students can buy affordable meals for themselves.

Types of Hostel

Students will be housed in either  two-person or four-person or six person per room hostel accommodation.

Each room is provided with study desks and reading lamps to ensure that students have comfortable spaces for focusing on their studies in their living accommodations.

The cost will depend on the number of students sharing, and the nature of the facilities. Shared accommodation (two persons per room) costs 0.00 per annum while four person room will cost 0.00 per annum.

Students are strongly advised to confirm the availability of Accommodation in the Hostel Portal before making payment.
