About Academic Affairs

The Directorate of Academic Planning and Assessment (DAPA) provides leadership for and oversight of programmes and services that support student learning and experiences, faculty support, policies and regulations. As such, the DAPA is responsible for the coordination of academic activities of the University namely; student admissions, monitoring and evaluation of teaching and learning and assessments.

Other responsibilities include; curriculum development and review, preparation of the University Academic Calendar and university budget estimates, developing, reviewing and aligning policies and procedures relating to academic development, academic brief, strategic planning and development of the University, and assuring that all students at NUM experience a challenging and rewarding education.

The Directorate will be a dynamic and effective unit committed to fostering quality education, scholarship, and service through involved and informed faculty, staff, and students.

Goals

  1. Ensure exceptional quality in NUM academic programmes by overseeing the development, review and aligning of policies and procedures relating to academic development, academic brief, strategic planning of the University.
  2. Employ pedagogies that are relevant to changing technologies and student demographics.
  3. Establish and augment internationalization and global engagement initiatives.
  4. Strategically manage student enrollment.
  5. Monitoring and maintaining academic standards through periodic curriculum review.
