Newgate University Minna receive applications for short courses, pre-degree courses, undergraduate diploma, undergraduate degrees, all through the year.
To make sure we consider all applicants thoroughly and fairly, there are several stages to our admissions process. Each one is outlined on this page. It is important you understand your role in each of these stages.

The following are major steps involved in applying for a degree programme at NUM. Please read them carefully before completing and submitting your application form.
Step 1: Find a Programme
- 1. Select the academic programme you wish to study at Newgate University Minna (NUM).
- Carefully review the admission requirements, including subject combinations and minimum grades.
- Apply early to benefit from early admission opportunities.
Step 2: Apply for Admission
1. Before You Begin Your Application
Ensure you have the following:
- A single PDF file containing your academic credentials (e.g., O’ Level results,Diploma and degree certificates and transcripts).
- A scanned coloured passport photograph with a plain white or off-white background (clear facial image, no filters).
- Proof of payment of the non-refundable application fee:
- ₦25,000 for undergraduate programmes.
- ₦50,000 for postgraduate programmes
Payment must be made via the official online payment gateway.
2. Online Application
- The application process takes approximately 30 minutes.
- You can start, save, and complete your application at any time before submission.
- Click on “Apply Now” on the NUM homepage.
- Create an account to access the application portal.
- Complete all required fields in the application form.
- Upload supporting documents:
- Academic credentials
- Passport photograph
- Proof of payment
- Submit your application.
Important Note:
All submitted documents become the property of Newgate University Minna. However, documents may be retained for up to one year if the applicant formally notifies the Admissions Office of a deferred enrolment.
Step 3: After you Apply
- You will receive an email confirmation upon successful submission.
- Application decisions are typically communicated within 5 working days.
- Some applicants may be invited for an online or in-person interview.

Step 4: Offer of provisional Admission to NUM
- Successful applicants will receive a Provisional Admission Offer.
- Candidates awaiting results or pending documentation may be granted temporary admission for one semester.
- To secure your admission:
- Accept the offer within the stipulated timeline.
- Fulfil all stated conditions.
Important:
Failure to submit required documents or submission of false information will result in withdrawal of admission.
Registration
Registration for the semester is done online using the myNUM portal and in the Academic planning and Faculty offices.
Matriculation
Matriculation confers membership of the University on students in ceremony specifically organize for that purpose. Every new student is required to attend this event.
