The accommodation officer in the Directorate of Student Affairs oversees all housing operations: applications, placement and billing. If your chosen residence is full, you will be placed on a waiting list ranked by academic merit and date of application.
Accommodation is provided for one year at a time; you must re-apply each year. NUM also has agreements with some private, accredited accommodation providers near the University, to which you can apply separately. In NUM residences, affordable meals are available from external suppliers.
Rooms
Students are housed in two-, four- or six-person rooms. Every room has study desks and reading lamps.
Fees
The cost depends on the number of students sharing and the facilities. Please confirm availability in the Hostel Portal before making any payment.
How to apply
You must have accepted an offer of admission, or be in good academic standing, before applying. Current residents must re-apply every year.
- Sign in to your myNUM account.
- Select My Application, then Residences Application and Offer.
- Click Complete application and check your contact details, especially your email address.
- On Accommodation Preferences, choose the available hostels and rooms in order of preference.
- Review your application on the Confirmation of Application screen, then click Submit Application.
- You will receive an email confirming your choices (check your junk folder).
Rooms are assigned on a first come, first served basis. When you receive an offer, read and accept the tenancy agreement, then pay within 7 days through the University's official payment channels. Collect your keys from the Hostel Warden.
