To be dynamic, innovative and forward-looking, and recognised for excellence in learning, teaching, research and service to the community.

Vision

To be a competent and competitive faculty with an international reputation for quality training, research and service.

Our programmes respond to life as a bio-psycho-socio-cultural reality in which continuous, rapid change is the norm, giving graduates a fundamental body of knowledge that makes them versatile contributors to the health sciences.

Objectives

  1. Promote high-quality teaching and learning that offers choice, flexibility and inter-professional opportunities.
  2. Prepare practitioners for lifelong learning and reflective, evidence-based practice.
  3. Give students the scientific knowledge, practical skills and technological competence to practise at primary, secondary and tertiary levels of care.
  4. Develop the interpersonal skills needed to work in health teams.
  5. Partner with service users, providers and agencies, mainly in Northern Nigeria but also nationally and internationally.
  6. Apply scholarship and research to health policy and practice.
