Prof Sadiq Yusuf was educated at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, Nigeria where he obtained a PhD in Physiology. Over the last 30 years, Prof Yusuf has gained extensive experience in the fields of teaching, managing scientific research and academic education of undergraduate and postgraduate students. Beyond his teaching and research activities, he has acquired in-depth Knowledge of Universityโs administration, policies and procedures as he has held top-level administrative positions in some of the top private Universities in Uganda, East Africa. He served as the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academics at Kampala International University, Uganda and Vice Chancellor of Uganda Technology and Management University.
Over the years, Prof Yusuf has played a pivotal role in the establishment of innovative staff development programmes, student scholarship schemes, and a biomedical research institute at the various institutions where he has served. Working with his international collaborators, he co-founded the Teaching and Research in Natural Sciences for Development (TReND) in Africa, a Non-Governmental Organization based in the United Kingdom, dedicated to the advancement of Neuroscience research and education in Africa.
