Academic Programmes

The Newgate University Minna offers a number of academic programmes at certificate, ordinary diploma, and undergraduate  levels. Please click on the relevant link below to view details of each academic programme.

Ordinary Diploma Programmes

The  ordinary diploma programmes are conducted in the Center for Corporate and Continuing Education [CCCE] . The programmes are in the following areas; –

  1. Finance
  2. Management
  3. Computer Science
  4. Mass Communication

Each programme is designed to prepare students who have completed their secondary education but did not meet the UTME minimum qualification to join a university.

The duration of  each programme is split into three semesters. During this period, students are exposed to intensive lectures from Mondays to Saturdays every week and a weekly continuous assessment tests (CATs) administered on Fridays.

Admission into NUM is automatic provided a student successfully completes the ordinary diploma programme as follows:

  • Obtained a minimum of 2.0 CGPA.
  • Choose NUM as first choice in UME and
  • Remedied all necessary O-Level deficiencies.
